Charlie Kokernak is a Director in Gantry’s Portland office. While at Gantry he has underwritten and closed over $2.5 billion in stabilized and structured debt through roughly 400 separate transactions from a wide variety of capital sources including life insurance, banks, credit unions, debt funds, and CMBS. Completed financing scenarios range from stabilized loans for traditional asset classes in addition to self-storage and hospitality, to structured debt and ground-up construction.

Prior to Gantry Charlie worked for CBRE where he provided strategic financial support for portfolio acquisitions and leaseback transactions for a Fortune top 10 company, which afforded him experience from the commercial occupier’s perspective. He has also led the finance team for the Bank of America Affordable Housing Challenge, an extensive development competition.

Charlie is an active member of several professional real estate organizations, including the Mortgage Bankers Association, NAIOP and ULI.
